Business Travel Advice To Europe Is To Make Sure You Are Adaptable

Traveling to Europe for business is often times not as much fun as one would think. Instead of sight-seeing every day you are working and trying to fit the sights in during that time. Business travel advice to Europe would be to know what you want to see and when it is open before you get there.
The wonderful thing of traveling for business is that your airfare, hotel, and some meals are paid for. This alleviates you having to shell out for the most expensive items in a holiday budget. But the time factor is the other side of that scale.
The focus of your visit is work so it must have your attention and be the priority. Yet making sure to know what you want to see, when it is open, and where it is located to better allow for efficient visitation. Having the way to get there is an even bigger plus because you can take lunch and get time to see a sight.
If you have the time then adding days on the beginning or end of the trip is the best way to be able to enjoy the trip. This allows you to do your work and enjoy the city you are in. Taking some vacation time is a good idea when you are given the opportunity to enjoy a foreign place. Have a guide book that you have already gone through ready as your guide. Or see if you can hire someone to be your personal guide for the day.
When the business is done and you have some time consider hopping onto a tour that will take you to the most important sights. Most of the tours specialize on getting you around quickly while giving you the option to spend more time at places you wish to enjoy longer. This allows you to leave the city feeling that you had some fun as well as work.
While the meetings are going on it is great to get to know your meeting partners. As they are the locals they will be a plethora of information for where to go and eat and what not to miss. If you get lucky they can even show you themselves which means better food at lower prices.
This type of insight into the life of someone who lives in the city you are visiting gives you an experience most people will never enjoy. If you get to meet their family, see their home, and enjoy the company of their friends you will find that your trip is even more than you expected.
Planning ahead before you come is great by buying a well planned out guide book with maps. Get a feeling of the city and where you wish to go, especially from where you are meeting. This will make it simple to get to the site and see it quickly.
Efficiency is the name of the game. Make sure you keep your passport with you at all times. And if you can make friends with business partners they will help expedite your chance to see the sights and get the best meals. Being flexible and at the ready is the business travel advice for Europe tours that you will best need.

Checking In? Your Room Is Up That Tree

What is it about the Swedes? Nature in the Nordic north can be harsh in the extreme, but they can’t resist having fun with it. Have you heard about Icehotel, in the Swedish Artic Circle? This wildly successful venture melts and disappears every year, only to be reconstructed come winter. Eager guests line up to wrap themselves in fur blankets and sleep inside spaces carved from ice and snow. But Sweden now boasts another outlandish hostelry, and it’s a natural high year ’round. Called Treehotel, it opened this summer in a pine forest in Swedish Lapland with four one-of-a-kind eco-friendly treehouses, plus a sauna suspended in the tree branches. Each was conceived by a different Swedish architect. In recent weeks two more stunning treehouses were completed and they also opened for guest stays. In the next five years, Treehotel plans to grow to a clutch of 23 suites hovering in the sky.
The beautiful pine forest that surrounds Treehotel, 40 miles south of the Artic Circle, was slated for timbering only a year ago, but now it has been preserved. Nearby flows the Lule River. The closest town is the hamlet of Harads. The treehouses themselves were built using local sustainable wood and feature green innovations. Among these are freezer toilets (which freeze waste for later removal) or “cinderellas,” which burn up waste. Daily use of one of these incinerators is said to produce only a single cup of ash residue in an entire year.
Intrigued? Well, wait till you hear about the two newest treehouses:
The wildest one is aptly named The UFO. That’s exactly what it looks like, a flying saucer caught in the high pine branches. Who could resist? Behind its portholes is a sleek, space-age living space that can comfortably sleep a family of four (there are even two child-sized beds).
You’ll quickly understand why the other new treehouse is named Room With A View. Indeed, depending on where you look, the view is completely distinct. From the roof terrace, you see all around you. From the dining area, the Lule River dominates. The elevated bedroom looks out onto the dense pine forest. And the bathroom’s windows face straight up to the sky.
And then there are also the original treehouses:
Perhaps most fascinating is the treehouse that disappears. The Mirror Cube. Just as it sounds, it is coated in a reflective surface (visible to birds, so they won’t crash into it); when the sun beams down on it, it actually seems not to be there — all you see is the forest that the mirrors reflect. From within, you see everything. It’s a modern, spare space that’s big enough to accommodate even a small kitchen.
If you like privacy, go for The Bird’s Nest. It’s like being in a cocoon. The “twigs” that encircle the exterior were collected from the forest. Inside, the light is low, the furnishings are soft and dark. Once you’ve retracted the entry ladder by remote control, you are all alone, baby bird.
The Cabin. You sleep looking out to floor-to-ceiling windows, inside a rectangular capsule with birch panelling. What better for stargazing or watching the sun disappear over the Lule?
Up the traditional birch-clad bridge from the mountain behind, you arrive at The Blue Cone. Why is it red, not blue? A mystery that is yours to unravel.
Why not do what’s great for you AND for the planet? Like staying in an amazing green hotel. That’s what Green Traveler Guides is all about — we’re all over the world’s best green travel.

Visit The Rugged Landscape Of Cornwall
Posted by Guest Author in Hotel Thursday, 30 September 2010 00:08 No Comments
Cornwall is a beautiful part of the country, and perfect for a relaxing break by the sea.
In terms of accommodation, there are numerous cottages available to rent throughout the region. We believe that to get a true taste of Cornwall, you really have to try out one of their authentic properties. The quaint, relaxing and tranquil culture in this part of the world is punctuated by its unique landscape, so it would be a bit of a waste not to be out amongst it.
You shouldn’t worry too much about language barriers either. Whilst Cornish is still spoken by thousands of people, it is highly unlikely that you will come across anyone who doesn’t speak English. Of course, you could always surprise a few locals by picking up a Cornish dictionary and throwing a few words around to see whose ears prick up.
There is a wealth of landmarks and sights to see in Cornwall to suit every taste.
The birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel Castle, can be found here, and a visit is a must if you’re interested in the local history: a fantastic experience, you’ll soon learn all that is great and royal about this part of the country. A gloomy day needn’t put you off either; overcast skies only add to the castle’s mysterious atmosphere.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are another great attraction. It is a fantastic estate which is open to the public with beautiful gardens steeped in mystery. The 200 acres of land are immaculately kept and are primed for exploration, with the people in charge of the restoration receiving international plaudits and awards for their work.
Another place to see some incredible plant life is the Eden Project. It’s a gigantic greenhouse, containing innumerable different species of plants collected from all over the world. They claim that Eden is “first and foremost about reminding us of our dependence on, and connection to, the natural world” and we certainly felt more in touch with nature after our visit. The beauty of the scenery within the artificial domes was a joy to behold. There is an area that replicates the atmosphere of a Rainforest and another that mimics the Mediterranean, both of which truly give you a taste of nature that you wouldn’t get anywhere else in the UK.
You’ll not be hard pressed to find some good food and drink in Cornwall either.
It would be a dramatic oversight if you didn’t try an authentic Cornish Pasty. Beware though, the portions at the local cafes are absolutely massive, so you might even be forced to take some away with you in a doggy bag.
There is a wide selection of local ales available to sample at the pubs and restaurants in the area, all of which also provide a very warm and friendly atmosphere.
Ultimately, Cornwall is a fabulous corner of the world with a unique culture. Its landscape is telling of its battle-worn past and yet it is still enveloped in green and beautiful surroundings.
So, if you’re after a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere, Cornwall might be the perfect place for your next weekend break.
