1. Guinness Storehouse

2. Kilmainham Gaol

This Gaol was built in 1792 and throughout its history housed many prisoners until 1924 when it was closed. Today it is now considered to be Ireland’s most famous disused prison. In 1798 it housed members of the Society of United Irishmen, whilst in the 1840′s it was home to Fenians and Land agitators such as Parnell and Davitt. 3. Dublin Castle

This structure was built between 1208 and 1220 and houses some of the city’s oldest surviving architecture. For more than 7 centuries it was the centre of English power in Ireland until in 1922 when it was taken over by the Irish Free State. 5. Dublinia

This is located on St Michael’s Hill and is the one of the 5 things you must see in Dublin to learn more about the real history of this city. As you wander through this attraction you learn more about the time when the Anglo Normans lived here as well as the time in the 1540′s when all its monasteries were forced to close. As well as models and reconstructions on display in the various exhibits there are a number of videos to be enjoyed. One particular exhibit you may enjoy spending time perusing is the scale model of the city that shows you what it looked like back in 1500.
